A note from our founder, Kit DeWitt:⁠ ⁠ As I reflect on my journey with KDI Design, I am filled with gratitude. I founded KDI in 2004, and for over 40 years, I have been fortunate to work alongside incredible colleagues, clients, and friends in the commercial interiors business. Through the years, we've navigated many challenges, celebrated successes, and built lifelong relationships.⁠ ⁠ In 2023, I faced one of my toughest challenges yet—being diagnosed with ovarian cancer. It was a battle that tested my strength, but with determination, support from loved ones, and the care of amazing doctors, I emerged victorious in 2024.⁠ ⁠ As I move into the next phase of my career as a Consulting Principal Founder, I'm excited to continue supporting the firm from a distance while handing the day-to-day leadership to my incredible daughter, Ginny. She has taken the reins with grace, vision, and passion, breathing new life into KDI in its 21st year. Ginny, at 36, is a rockstar at overseeing the business and has a fresh approach that has inspired our talented team to reach new heights.⁠ ⁠ My husband, Jan remains active as our CFO, and I couldn’t be prouder of how our family has continued to work together in the business we love. I still pop into the studio every Tuesday to catch up with the team and stay connected to the heart of KDI Design.⁠ ⁠ I am so proud of what we've built and where we're headed, and I’m excited for what the future holds for KDI Design under Ginny’s leadership. Thank you to everyone who has supported me on this journey—here’s to many more years of success, growth, and friendship!

She specializes in Color and Materials and is highly skilled in AutoCAD, InDesign, and Adobe Photoshop. 🎨🏢⁠ ⁠ With a Bachelor of Fine Arts from The Illinois Institute of Art-Schaumburg and a Bachelor of Science from Illinois State University, Katrina’s passion for design shines through in every project she works on. 🌟⁠ ⁠ A few fun facts about Katrina:⁠ ⁠ ❤️ She’s an ISU alum (Go Redbirds!), and it’s where she met her husband, Kris.⁠ 😂 Katrina is mom to a hilarious 2-year-old named Otis.⁠ 🐶 She has a Frenchie named Tina, who is just as funny as Otis!⁠ 🌿 Houseplant lover!
