When I started KDI in 2004, it was important to me that our firm gave back, in some way. As my team of 99% women sat around the conference table 18 years ago, we landed on our first mission....support the cause to end breast cancer. The very next year I got the call from one of my dearest friends, Marie, giving me the news that she had been recently diagnosed. From that day forward our mission became ever more personal, as I now was faced with this reality.
Over the years my firm, KDI, has supported numerous causes, but none so near and dear as the movement to end breast cancer. Many of you have a "Marie" in your life. In honor of those that have fought this fight and all of their loved ones, we have walked over 500 miles over the years, and are ready to add another 60 in 2022.
I'd be so grateful if you could support me and TEAM KDI KARES as we commit to an incredible challenge. The Susan G. Komen 3-Day is a 60-mile walk over the course of three days. It will be hard, but it’s not as hard as breast cancer. It’s not as hard as chemo. It’s not as hard as getting bad news at your latest scan. It’s not as hard as saying goodbye. And that’s why I know I have to do this, again. That’s why I commit. That’s why I’m walking and why I’m raising money – to end breast cancer forever.
